Congruent number problem is to determine whether a given integer is the area of a right triangle with rational side lengths. BSD conjecture is a prediction of deep relation between arithmetic and analytic aspects of elliptic curves over number fields. In this talk, we introduce the relation between the two problems and some recent progress on them.

报告人简介：

田野，中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院和晨兴数学中心研究员，中国科学院大学教授，研究方向为数论、算术代数几何，他在数论领域做出了杰出的贡献。曾获得中国青年科技奖、拉马努金奖、晨兴数学金奖和2018中国科学院年度人物等。
