In order to promote the anti-epidemic spirit of “unity and cohesion”, spread the culture of sign language, and convey the warmth of world, the 10^thHefei University of Technology sign language chorus competition of “Hands Looking at the Original Heart, Going with the Path of Epidemic”was held on the 20^thDecember atRm.301, Complex Building, Emerald Lake Campus. The Competition invited Min Zheng, an associate professor of psychology at Anhui Jianzhu University, the vice chairman of the mental health education and teaching committee of colleges of Anhui province, a distinguished expert of the Anhui provincial government psychological emergency rescue corps; Dazhu Deng, the deputy director of the department of political education and department of hearing impaired for Hefei Special Education Center; Lei Sun, the director of psychology center of Anhui Agricultural Univerisity; Jian Cui, the deputy minister of the student affairs department of the school party committee; Zhiming Li, the director of school mental health education and counseling center, as the judges. Meanwhile, some relevant people who are in charge of faculty and the counseller of the faculty were invited as the honored guests. This competition attracted more than 300 students to participate.

The program “Don’t Give up”performed by the school of economics kicked off the competition, with the rest participating teams from 11 schools appearing one after another. The program “Because of Love in the Heart”from the school of resources and environmental engineering depicts the selfless dedication of the majority of anti-epidemic workers; the program from the school of mathematics “Like You”highlights the responsibility under the epidemic; The program of the school of the Marxism “My Motherland”expresss deep love and blessings to the motherland;the program “Ordinary Angels”of the school of food and biological engineering praises the dedication of medical staff in the fight against the epidemic; the program of the school of civil and hydraulic engineering“The Next Spring”shows the determination of the major students to win the epidemic; the program “Nation”from the school of computer and information presents a high singing voice, pushing the competition to a climax!

After selection, the team from the school of computer and information won the first prize,the teams from the school of food and biological engineering and the school of mathematics won the second prizes, the teams from the school of electrical and automation engineering, the school of the Marxism,and the school of resources and environmental engineering won the third prizes. The teams from the school of civil and hydraulic engineering, the school of mechanical engineering, the school of foreign languages, the school of instrument science and optoelectronic engineering, the school of economics won the excellence prizes. The associate professor of psychology at Anhui Jianzhu University Min Zheng, and the deputy director of the department of political education for Hefei Special Education Center Dazhu Deng have made wonderful comments from the perspective of mental health education and sign language specialization, and expressed their full recognition of the competition.

The competition is sponsored by the student affairs department of the school party committee and undertaken by the school of mathematics, which aims at further publicizing mental health knowledge, spreading sign language culture, telling stories about fighting epidemic, raising the awareness of gratitude and cherish life of college students, enhancing the positive psychological quality of college students. The sign language chorus competition has become an important carrier of mental health education for college students at our school and has played an important role in creating a positive, healthy and civilized campus culture.
